Social Worker Position Description
The COSMO primary care clinic is also staffed by social work graduate students from Columbia University School of Social Work (CUSSW). In keeping with the CUSSW’s mission of providing service to the community, several graduate CUSSW students volunteer time to assist in several facets of clinic operation. In collaboration with the medical and public health students the social workers conduct patient intake screening, administer concrete services, provide assistance with eligibility for insurance and access to various medical resources in the local community. The social work students are looking forward to expanding the scope of COSMO services to include patient psychoeducation groups with regards to immigration issues.
